Sustainable agriculture project for community self-reliance

The Étoiles du Cameroun association is currently developing a sustainable agriculture project aimed at improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations by promoting food and economic self-sufficiency within communities.

In many rural and peri-urban areas, access to sustainable agricultural resources remains limited, resulting in low productivity, unstable incomes, and persistent food insecurity. To address these challenges, the association seeks to promote responsible and accessible agricultural practices that enable beneficiaries to produce sustainably while protecting the environment.

The project primarily aims to:

  • strengthen food security in communities
  • improve household incomes through sustainable agricultural activities
  • promote environmentally friendly farming practices
  • develop beneficiaries’ skills in modern and responsible agriculture

To achieve these objectives, the project includes several activities:

  • practical training in sustainable agriculture and agroecological techniques
  • creation of pilot agricultural plots to serve as learning sites
  • technical support for beneficiaries from specialists in the field
  • support for the processing and marketing of agricultural products
  • facilitating access to local markets for sales

Through this project, the Étoiles du Cameroun Association hopes to contribute to the creation of sustainable solutions to poverty and food insecurity, while promoting the economic empowerment of beneficiaries.

The approach adopted prioritizes training, hands-on learning, and support for participants so that they can develop viable and sustainable agricultural activities in the long term.

This project is part of the association’s overall vision, which is to promote social initiatives capable of strengthening community resilience and creating opportunities for local development.
