Empowering a widowed mother: a step towards lasting independence
The Étoiles du Cameroun Association is pleased to announce the successful completion of a major project supporting a widowed mother with six children.
Following the death of her husband, this mother found herself alone, responsible for her family’s education, food, and healthcare. Recognizing the urgency of the situation and, above all, the need for a lasting solution, the association chose to go beyond providing temporary assistance.
Thanks to the financial support mobilized through our solidarity initiatives, the children’s school fees have been fully paid, and some school supplies have been purchased, thus ensuring the continuity of their education.
A small business has been established for the mother, with a stall at the local market, allowing her to start an income-generating activity.
This approach has a clear objective: to promote autonomy and dignity. This is not just about providing temporary assistance, but about creating the conditions that will allow this mother to sustainably provide for her children and manage her family’s future herself.
Today, this business represents more than just an economic activity: it is a symbol of resilience, courage, and renewal.
