Launch of the #lightastar solidarity campaign
The Étoiles du Cameroun Association launched a solidarity campaign on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, entitled #lightastar, aimed at supporting orphaned children at risk of dropping out of school, as well as a family currently living on the streets. This initiative reflects the association’s commitment to child protection and the restoration of human dignity.
Through this campaign, the association seeks to mobilize solidarity to raise funds for school fees and supplies necessary for the education of children whose families can no longer afford to provide for their children’s education. Simultaneously, the association is supporting a young family living on the streets, with a two-year-old child, through a stabilization process that includes access to housing, hygiene, and social support.
Because education, housing, and dignity are fundamental rights, #lightastar invites citizens, the diaspora, businesses, and partners to participate in this campaign through financial donations, in-kind donations (notebooks, school bags, clothing, hygiene products, accommodation/contact persons, etc.), or simply by sharing the message on social media.
This initiative aligns with the overall vision of the Étoiles du Cameroun Association, which works to protect children, promote social inclusion, and foster mutual support between communities.
Contributions can be sent directly to the association through its usual channels. Every contribution, even a small one, helps to “light a star,” that is, to restore hope, a future, and security to vulnerable children and families.
The campaign continues in the coming days, and a report will be published at its conclusion.
